The Bai Lab
About Me
Yi Li is a PhD student from Biochemistry, Microbiology and Molecular Biology (BMMB) program at Penn State University. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Shandong University (Supervisor: Dr. Mingyu Wang) in China and Uppsala University (Supervisor: Dr. Fredrik Pettersson) in Sweden. He joined Bai’s Lab since January 2019 and now he is studying chromosomal interaction using a yeast model.
Research Interest
I focus on developing a new method to study chromosomal interactions.
Research Summary
I’m developing a new crosslinking, ligation - free method to study chromosomal interactions, which combines proximity methylation and whole genome bisulfite sequencing. The method shall help us better understand the interaction of chromosome in their native environment.
