About Me:
I worked in the pharmaceutical industry before starting at Penn State where I focused in different areas of research ranging from vaccines to gene therapy for rare genetic diseases. I received my Masters of Science in Bioengineering and Bachelors of Science in Biology both from Wilkes University. The goal of my Masters thesis was to engineer Arabidopsis to produce the secondary metabolite, resveratrol, when exposed to UV light to ultimately use as a tool to study the effect of resveratrol on the microbiome of plants. My scientific interests lie in plant physiology, biochemistry, and metabolism, and my ultimate goal is to enter academia where I can mentor students in the lab and the classroom. I enjoy volunteering, hiking, biking, and road trips.
